What is the Best Ocean Front Hotel in Maui?
Andy T asked:
This might be a silly question considering it is Maui but which hotels have the best ocean view rooms? I want to be able to walk from the hotel right to the beach. I am going to different hotel sites but I am having a difficult time finding pictures of the rooms. Thanks everyone!

Try the link to Wizard publications’ site here …..
under “Hotels and resorts”. There are aerial views which will give you a great idea of proximity to the water and beaches.

I stayed at the Hyatt on Maui and it was absolutely Incredible! There were walkways to the beach, and grassy areas with hammocks all along the edge of the Ocean. A lot of the Hotel is open, with massive wooden doors that open completely with panoramic views of the water and nearby islands. Lush gardens, a great pool area and access to almost everything you need.
This Hotel is on a pathway of other hotels right along the waterfront as well, so if you search around the same area as this you may find others. I think the Four Seasons is on the same path. Plenty of Beach space and breathtaking.
Happy hunting!

There is no “best” ocean front hotel on Maui. All the big name resort hotels on Maui are constructed on the beaches. Each is roughly the same number of steps from the water’s edge. So, make your choice on other criteria, like quality of restaurants, proximity to activities and relationship to important shopping.

Kaanapali Beach Hotel near Whalers Village is very nice. They have great music every night in the back of the hotel and you can walk right onto the beach.

The Prince has a private strip of beach. We had our kids with us so we walked to the far end and it was like we were on our own private beach.
The Marriott is also nice but not as private as the Prince.

My personal favorite is the Grand Wailea, but it’ll cost you like $400 a night or so. Awesome hotel though!
