Trip for 2 to Hawaii?
KEKiLi asked:
Hi, my boyfriend and I are about to start planning our summer trip to Hawaii. I used to live in Hawaii before I moved here a few years ago, I lived on Oahu and I have also been to Maui and the Big Island. My boyfriend has never been to Hawaii. I know Oahu is like the most expensive island, I would like to stay on an other island and then spend like the last two days on Oahu. We are planning on our trip being about 7 days. Which Island should we stay on?? I’m looking for somewhere beautiful with great weather and lots to do, but isn’t budget breaking so I would like a very affordable hotel, just somewhere decent to sleep since we won’t be spending all of our time in the Hotel. Any suggestions? We will have about a 4000 dollar budget.

The Big Island has it’s tourist spots far apart, you use a lot of time driving. Also the Big Island has lot’s of Lava Fields that run into the Ocean, thus, they have less percentage of actual beach.
Maui is our where you should go. It’s more manageable than Big Island and they have more to do than Lanai, Kauai or Molokai.
As far as budget accomodations, just google “Maui Vacation Rentals” and stay in either Kihei or Wailea. But you lived here, you should know where to stay

My husband and I were able to go to Oahu from Thursday to Tuesday for $900. This was for the flight and hotel (right on the beach).
The best way to save money to to search expedia, travelocity, hotwire, travelzoo, orbitz, etc… The rates change daily. You save money by booking your flight and hotel together and also if you want a rental car.
Just keep doing research until you are happy with the price. I have also found that you can camp cheap in Hawaii at the parks. Since you aren’t spending much time in the hotel, you might be better off packing a tent and camping out a few nights.
Have fun!!~~~~~~~
