Hotels in Hawaii?

yo asked:


i need hotel in Waikiki area (a good hotel / not a crappy one) that costs less than $200 a night
and i need a good hotel in Maui and on the island of Hawaii.
any suggestions from personal experience?? thanks!!

    In Waikiki, the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani is a good bet. You can get even an ocean-view room for a bit less than $200 and the location is fantastic.

    On Hawaii Island, the Hilton is nice but it may be over $200. It’s like a little theme park pretty isolated with about 15 swimming pools and dolphin park if you’re into that. If you’re looking for something in the town of Kailua-Kona, the Kona Islander Inn is nice and only about $100 a night depending on the season.

    Haven’t been to Maui yet.

    For Waikiki, you could try the Outrigger or Ohana chains

    For the Big Island I would look at the hotel at Keauhou

    My aunt just got back from 3 weeks in Hawaii. She booked her air/hotels thru United Vacations, and she’s a pretty savvy shopper, so you may want to check out their current specials. Have fun!

    You’ll be hard pressed to find a hotel in Hawaii that costs less than $200/night. You might want to check out the Outrigger hotel lines. They have a lot of chain hotels that used to be from other hotel chains that are decent enough but aren’t luxury hotels so are realatively inexpensive.

    As for Maui and Hawaii, it depends on where you want to be.

    For all hotels, price will be determined by how far in advance you’re booking and what time of the year you’ll be traveling. Obviously, like airlines, the longer window you’ll have the better chance you’ll be able to get a deal and if you’re traveling in the off peak season (between October – April), the price of travel to Hawaii will be better.
