Beachfront Luxury with Canopy Beds?

butterfly asked:

Hello,

I’d like to stay at a luxury spa hotel on the beach (or lake) that has canopy beds with a white cover over the sides. I am interested in the west coast; specifically Maui, Lake Tahoe or any costal California city. Correction, I don’t want to stay in San Francisco.

Please help me, I have been looking for weeks now and I can’t find one luxury or resort hotel on the beach with canopy beds.

Thanks

I **** to be a wet blanket (no pun intended!) but it doesn’t sound very practical. Maybe that’s why you can’t find it?

I don’t know about the canopy part of this but some good options are Shutters in Santa Monica or the Ritz Carlton in Marina Del Rey if you want the LA area.

For Maui try Hyatt Regency in Kaanapali or you want Wailea go Four Seasons.

Obviously, you haven’t been to the beach that much. Or you’re forgetting something.

First of all, most hotels don’t have canopy beds because they require a LOT of extra cleaning.

Second, at the beach, you have a LOT of humidity from fog. Salty humidity. Ever been in someone’s home who lives at the beach? It’s always musty. Same with beachfront hotels. Since it’s always damp, they’re very musty. It’s virtually impossible to get rid of mold and mildew. Add a canopy bed to that, and you have a recipe for disaster.

Have you tried looking at some of the B&B’s in Monterey or Pacific Grove? I believe the Green Gables Inn has a canopy bed.

You might want to try going a little bit further south of LA. They have some resorts in Cabo that have canopy beds on the beach where you can have a drink and get waited on while you watch the sunset.

Try the World Famous St. Regis in Laguna Beach. You cant get fancier or closer to the beach, also they have kick *** massages.
